anything that you can help me with will be greatly appreciated.
Hi Jessie -
We offer two documents right now to get you started:
1) Setup guide: This should allow you to get started with Soothware and understand our tracking system.
2) User guide: This provides an overview of how to do key functions once you've gotten your account setup.
We're working on a series of Video demos that will provide an overview of these key topics, but haven't released it yet. In the meantime, please let us know if you need help with anything.
On the tracking pixel, we use a fairly standard method: we set a cookie on the user's computer after they click on one of your ads. If/when they convert, the tracking pixel allows us to connect that conversion to the keyword and ad that was originally responsible for each campaign. This allows us to figure out which keywords and other media placements are most effective towards meeting your goals.
I noticed that you're an affiliate - most affiliate networks are very familiar with tracking pixels and your account manager should be able to place our pixel on their "thank you" page quite easily. If you find someone for whom that doesn't work - please let us know!
ok thanks but i have one more question. where do i find the tracking pixel on your web site. i told my manager that i needed it done and he said that was fine but he needed the pixel. thanks and i really like your sofware. i was wondering also are you gonna add other search engines such as ask.com looksmart and other second tier search engines. thanks again
If you're in the Setup process, you can find the pixel by clicking on the link labeled "Setup tracking". You will then be given the option of using our Redirect tracking, or adding javascript to your landing pages. You should select one of these options. Many affiliates are sending traffic to other people's landing pages on which they cannot add javascript, in which case you will need to use the Redirect option.
After selecting this, the next screen will provide the tracking pixel. It will look similar to the following line of HTML code:
Make sure you copy and past the entire piece of code, just as above.
If you're already setup in Soothware, you can find the tracking pixel on the dashboard under the link labeled "Get Tracking Pixel"
Hope this is helpful - let us know if you have other questions/comments!
